We will study and discuss the mahayana teachings of mind training 
("lojong"), which includes instruction in tonglen practice.

It will be necessary to purchase or borrow a text and prepare the reading assignment for the first class. Sitting meditation is a requirement for participating in the course. 
Instruction will be offered for those just beginning meditation practice. The suggested cost for the six classes is $30, though any contribution fitting your means is welcome. 

Arthur Jennings and Susan Shaw will lead the classes. Arthur is a resident of Barnet; he is a nurse and caregiver and has been practicing and studying the buddhadharma for over 25 years. Susan began meditating in 1979; she completed the 3-year retreat associated with Gampo Abbey in 1996 and now lives in St.Johnsbury where she works as a caregiver.

Pema Chödrön is a renowned teacher of the mahayana buddhist path of compassion and loving kindness and author. She is a student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
