This class will explore The Art of War from the perspective of  Shambhala warriorship - victory over aggression.  This  philosophy embraces strife or friction as a natural part of life, with war being the most  extreme result. Conflict arises continuously in both small and large ways.  How  do we work with this conflict in our lives?  Do we meet it or shy away from  it?  Do we open to it, or do we close down?  Crucial to this strategic  vision is knowledge - especially self knowledge.  In this class we will  examine key principles such as "taking whole" and see how we can apply  them to our everyday lives.

The Art of War (Shambhala 2001), the text for the class, is the Denma Translation Group’s translation of the ancient chinese classic by Sun Tzu, which you can read about at victoryoverwar.com

Suzann Duquette is a member of the Denma Translation group and was co-coordinator of Karme Choling from 1995 to 2001.

The fee for the class will be a suggested $30 donation.

The St. Johnsbury Shambhala Center is located on Eastern Avenue above the Sunshine Boutique, next door to the Star Theatre.
